Thomas P. Lawlor Chicago, IL |
I am leaving my employment at Walgreens after 31 years due to my acceptance of a voluntary separation package from the company effective 4-30-2009. I have been an R.Ph. since my graduation from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 1975.
My current position is (Corporate) Director, Pharmacy Quality Assurance for Walgreens which I have held since 2005. Areas of responsibility include PSO accreditation for WAG, interactions with major national organizations on various projects (ISMP, NACDS, AHRQ, FDA, HHS) as well as development and enhancement of Walgreens on-line real time adverse drug event reporting and tracking system. From 1999 - 2005 I was (Corporate) Director, Pharmacy Marketing for WAG where I was responsible for pharmacy acquisitions (Rx file buyouts), drug pricing, store (pharmacy) pricing, pharmacy gross profit, inventory management, some of our automation, the electronic drug database Walgreens uses including DUR and drug-drug, drug-allergy and drug-health conditions interactions. Negotiations with these various responsible vendors were also in my area of responsibility. So the title 'Pharmacy Marketing' was a bit of a misnomer.
From July 1994 - 1999 my title was (Corporate) Manager, Pharmacy Database. From June 1992 - July 1994 I was a Regional Pharmacy Supervisor for Drug Store Operations for the entire Chicago land area for Walgreens. From March 1988 - June 1992 I was a District Pharmacy Supervisor of Drug Store Operations. From Jan. 1978 - March 1988 I was a pharmacy and store manager for Walgreens in 4 different Chicago retail drug store locations. I worked for a large independent retail pharmacy from Dec. 1976 - Jan. 1978. From May - Dec. 1975, I was a graduate pharmacy intern and staff pharmacist for Walgreens.
In my various positions over the years I have given many depositions covering my areas of responsibility. I have also testified at a trial.
As you can see, my professional career has been in retail drug store operations and retail drug store support at many different levels.
Thank you.
